Overview
The Think About Teams module provides an excellent opportunity for team building through a better understanding of individual thinking preferences and an exploration of how these thinking preferences impact behaviour, and ultimately team effectiveness. It also helps individuals understand and value what each individual brings to a team and the contributions they can make. Participants will understand the mental demands of their role as members of a team and the impact of team preferences and their ability to deliver on those demands.
Objectives
• Understand individual profiles
• To move beyond individual awareness and implications of thinking preferences to group implications and impact on team effectiveness.
• Understand what an individual brings to a team and the contributions he or she can make.
• Recognise that everyone on a team has an important contribution to make.
• Understand the overall mental demands of team tasks and the shift of those mental demands over time.
• Identify gaps between collective team preferences and mental demands of team tasks.
• Understand the tools and techniques for dealing with gaps between team thinking preferences and required thinking preferences.

• Distribute individual profiles
• Review Whole Brain Model and apply to teams.
• Examine individual contribution to a team.
• Analyse team composite thinking preferences.
• Determine mental demands of team tasks or objectives.
• Practise using TeamThink to increase the effectiveness of teams.
• Plan and prepare an on-the-job application using Team Thinker.
